Looking in a futuristic manner to five years from now, major tendencies in future mobility can be clearly identified. One rapidly changing area is the interactive connection among the three main players: Vehicles, Users and Environment.
With the advent of advanced technologies such as Internet and mobile phones on the one hand, to a growing range of sensors on the other, the penetration of autonomous mobility to our daily life, particularly in urban areas, becomes a rapid reality.
However, the existence of the technological means to provide better treatment and improved quality of life cannot fulfill its promise without the trust of all those involved. Trust will only be generated if all players in the interaction are satisfied with an adequate level of protection securing their vehicle along its journey – originating with the car and onwards, across all communications channels up to the successful execution of the mission:
safely and securely arrive at the destination point.
An event combining presentations by keynote speakers whom are opinion leaders in their field, with round-tables and general assembly sessions, does provide an ideal platform for an enriching and educational day. It is also expected to generate a substantially deeper awareness for each discipline as to the activity of all others, thus enhancing the holistic comprehension of all parties engaged.

BUIDLING TRUST – THE KEY FOR AUTONOMOUS MOBILITY /
WORKSHOP VALUE /
Through 4 open panels, the workshop’s agenda will cover the following challenges in the future urban environment:
Smart City & Public Transportation - The session will be dedicated to envisioning the future environment of Smart City and Public Transportation within the coming decade. The multidisciplinary panel of opinion leaders will discuss among other things the anticipated Cyber challenges that are derived from the vision and optional framework of collaboration to face them.
Autonomous Vehicles - Being the core component of the Smart Mobility future realm, the session will be examining various aspects associated with Cyber threat linked to the vehicle surrounding, covering the main building blocks such as the IT, communication, power plant, entertainment and the alike. The team will be also discussing the stakeholders' positioning and responsibilities in the bigger picture of technology and solution providers.
Communication Security Challenges - The session will zoom into one of the major components of the holistic solution – the Communication between the various players of the Smart City, often named as V2X. While the technology is being developed with the goal of addressing the complexity of the futuristic scenery and ensuring high level of functionality, the challenge of securing it from Cyber threat is somewhat lagged behind. The team will be addressing those aspects and will suggest actionable directions to push them forward.
Testing and Certification - The session will have focused on the challenge of testing, evaluating and certifying autonomous vehicles and other components of Smart Mobility for their resilience while experiencing hostile Cyber environment. Issues such as information sharing, standardization committees, global regulations and the alike are to be thoroughly discussed, suggesting venues of collaborations and joint platforms.
Research and development in parallel on each of these spheres is yielding unprecedented results that offer great promise for improved mobility service. At the same time, it is essential that each sphere is aware of and updated with the others’ activities and advances. This will ensure coherency and compliance with a holistic solution, particularly taking into account the need to secure operation in the face of current and future Cyber threat.
